C.A.N. Foster ParentsA C.A.N. foster home is a "nurture" house. A place that gives love and physical care and maintenance to our rescues. Sometimes medicines are needed to be given and /or an animal needs to go to the vet. All food, litter, supplies and vet visits are paid for by our non-profit organization. Please tell your friends to donate!
When ready for adoption, the foster home brings their kitties back and forth to our adoption events at Fashion Island to be seen and adopted. We have a 100 % adoption rate! Our clients appreciate a healthy animal and know how much veterinary care costs. As caregiver, you are "not" required to stay at the adoption event but we ask that you be available by cell phone or home phone to discuss with potential new pet families the personalities of your foster kitties. There are two type of foster homes, those acting inorder to get their own pet adopted, and those caring for and housing rescued animals. Read the descriptions below.
Private Party Animal Listing- The owner pays a one time listing fee for the animal in advance NOT at adoption event. They cannot just show up or pay there. They must mail in the listing fee to our address. They recieve unlimited opportunities to show their pet in public at Fashion Island's exclusive fashion Island in Newport Beach, a free pet classified listing in our "local people and pets paper", The Animal Report of Orange County, next printing August 1st. and a free web listing with a photo we take at the first day of adoption.
Good Citizen Rescue - (a person who found a stray dog or cat) They foster their own rescue, we pay all vet services with authorization one of our "angel vets" but no food and litter is paid for
Spay And Return Program - This is for those whose cat or dog has gotten pregnant. We will give their pet a free spay after it has had it's litter, and pay all vet services for their kittens or puppies if they sign a "Good Citizen's Foster Home Contract," and agree to partipate and bring their animals through "Animal Network's" adoption process. (animals must be 2 lbs which is 8 -10 weeks of age). They can purchase food and litter at cost from us and we pay the vet bills.
Kittens found in bushes and animals found are Good Citizen Rescues, animals owned by the foster parent are private parties that list for a small fee.
