Our "Angel Vets"

Our "Angel Vets" reduce their charges significantly to us so we can help more animals. Spay and neuter is the surgery performed most often on rescued animals.

We spay and neuter kittens at 2lbs which is approximately 9 weeks of age. We follow the January 2000 California State law that requires large municipal shelters to spay and neuter all animals before leaving the animal shelter.

Dr. Joel Pasco

Dr. Pasco is our "shelter vet. He helps us purchase medicines at cost.

Dr. Joel Pasco’s life long love of animals is what led him to become a veterinarian and he has now been practicing veterinarian medicine for 30 years. He says the most significant thing that he has learned is that people and pets never seem to amaze him and he is continually amazed at how closely bonded most people are to their pets. His special interests are in exotic pets and wildlife medicine and surgery. Dr. Pasco incorporates alternative medicine, to an extent, into his traditional practice with things such as diet and vitamins. All Creatures Care Cottage specialties’ include general surgery and exotic pet surgery. The referral of patients is sometimes necessary, though, for severe fractures and major cancer cases. The hospital provides basic procedures such as spay/neuter and claw removal. Preventative care such as dental care, vaccines, flea control and the like are also provided. Teeth cleaning are suggested every 6-12 months depending on each case. All procedures include anesthesia and medicine if needed. Other hospital services are also available such as board and care while you are away, bathing to treat pet skin problems, house calls for non emergencies, client education and koi pond and tropical fish care. Dr. Pasco and the veterinary hospital serve the community by supporting The Community Animal Network through giving complimentary exams for rescue animals. He also provides pro-bono work and has served on the Board for Orange County Vet Services.

Dr. Zuniga

Dr. Zuniga’s early exposure to cats and poultry, along with the guidance of his grandfather and his uncle who was a veterinarian, had a great influence on his decision to practice veterinary medicine. He has been a licensed vet for 15 years. Dr. Zuniga incorporates alternative medicine into his traditional practice with diet and vitamins. South Main Animal Hospital provides basic procedures such as spay/neuter, claw removal and tail docking. Teeth cleaning is also performed and is suggested that this procedure should be performed twice a year. This procedure includes anesthesia and dental fluoride. He is a general practitioner, but does specialize in some orthopedic surgeries, such as repairing broken legs and simple fractures. The referral of patients is sometimes necessary for some hip surgeries and cataract surgeries. He also refers clients out for a second opinion if patients need any expertise involving internal medicine. Patients are also referred to non-traditional practitioners such as chiropractors and acupuncturists. His veterinary hospital serves the community by supporting The Community Animal Network through giving complimentary exams for rescue animals and offering special prices so that more animals may be treated.
